Meet our new team members

We’re committed to working with communities along the alignment as we progress the planning and delivery of Inland Rail. Last year, we welcomed two new faces to our Toowoomba-based stakeholder engagement team to ensure locals can continue to share their knowledge and valuable feedback.

New stakeholder engagement members join the Border to Gowrie project team

Some of you may know Belinda Scott-Toms, who joins the team following two years working on the Gowrie to Kagaru section of Inland Rail, and Alicia Mackay joins us from Western Downs Regional Council.

Manager Stakeholder Engagement Queensland, Sarah Delahunty said the new Stakeholder Engagement Advisors will primarily work on the Whetstone to Gowrie section of the Border to Gowrie project.

“The new appointments are timely as the team continues to work with affected landowners to discuss key project elements such as land access, property acquisition and compensation, and to prepare for the Border to Gowrie project’s revised draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) public consultation period,” Ms Delahunty said.

“To date, our team has spoken with many affected landowners and community members through one-on-one discussions, briefings, drop-in sessions and workshops.

“2022 is set to be another big year as the project continues to progress, so it’s wonderful to have two additional team members in Toowoomba.”

Out and about

Next month, will see us return as a stallholder at the Toowoomba Royal Show, so be sure to drop by and say hello to our team’s new and familiar faces.

“We really enjoy attending the Toowoomba Show each year, and we’re looking forward to getting back out into the local community,” Ms Delahunty continued.

“Community members along the Border to Gowrie alignment have been generous in sharing their knowledge and we continue to receive a lot of valuable feedback.

“I encourage you to get involved and invite you to contact us for more information and to provide feedback at any time.”
