T2A Environment Report on display

In Victoria, a key step in moving ahead with Stage 1 of the Tottenham to Albury (Beveridge to Albury) project is to complete an Environment Report, as directed by the Victorian Minister for Planning.

The Report describes the project and assesses its potential environmental impacts. These will be assessed against the Minister’s ‘Scope Requirements’ that have been developed for the project.

The report outlines strategies that consider environmental impacts during construction, site rehabilitation and operation, and summarises consultation undertaken to date. It includes detailed information about the 12 project sites in Victoria, including seven identified in the Mitchell Shire.

We exhibited the report for public feedback during November. With COVID-19 restrictions lifting, the team jumped at the opportunity to get back out in the community with pop-up events in Mitchell and shop fronts in Euroa, Benalla and Wangaratta.

It was great to see new and familiar faces to answer questions and provide guidance on how the community could submit feedback to Department of Environment, Water, Land and Planning.

The team fielded specific questions about the Environment Report as well as general questions about the project including its benefits and proposed works.
