A Boost for North Star students
N2NS Project Director, Heather Parry and Stakeholder Engagement Lead – N2NS, Melanie Elms, recently visited the North Star Public School to view the successful installation of a Cel-Fi Booster at the school. This important project for the school was funded through Inland Rail's Sponsorships and Donations program.
North Star is a remote community on the Narrabri to North Star alignment and has limited mobile phone signal and relies on mobile telephones for communication with parents. The Cel-Fi Booster will not only improve mobile coverage for the school but assist the wider community. This installation will ensure that parents can be reliably contacted in the case of an emergency.
The Inland Rail Sponsorships and Donations program has been running since 2019 and has benefitted hundreds of community groups in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Round 2 of the funding program for 2021 will open on 1 May 2021. Applications and further information can be found on the sponsorships page.
