Actively contributing to Queensland’s future

We’re looking out for Queensland.

Members of the Inland Rail leadership team.

Queensland makes up around 21% of the total length of Inland Rail and will receive upwards of $6 billion during construction, so our membership of the Queensland Futures Institute (QFI) is important to us.

QFI is a partnership of business, research, education and community leaders working together on public policy reform in Queensland and Inland Rail is represented, at our Leadership Team level, on the three QFI councils focused on the state’s potential and its emerging opportunities:

  • Inland Rail CEO Richard Wankmuller is a member of the Queensland Futures Council, which sets QFI’s policy agenda and contributes to public policy debate on the state’s economic and social growth
  • Inland Rail Director of Government and Stakeholder Relations Simon Eldridge is a member of the Queensland Corporate Affairs Council which facilitates public policy debate on corporate, external and government affairs matters
  • Inland Rail Chief of Staff Brendan Nerdal is part of the Queensland Economics and Finance Council which focuses on Queensland’s economy and finances.
