Calvert to Kagaru interactive noise map shows predicted noise levels

The Calvert to Kagaru project has released an interactive noise map showing the predicted airborne noise levels once Inland Rail is operational, based on the current draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Check out the interactive noise map here.

The modelling results, including ground-borne noise and vibration levels, are also available in the Calvert to Kagaru draft EIS, which was on public display between 19 December 2020 and 8 March 2021.

You can view the draft EIS online at www.statedevelopment.qld.gov.au/inlandrail-c2k

The Project team presented the interactive map to the Scenic Rim and Ipswich Community Consultative Committee in late November prior to its public release. The map was well received by the Committee, and we urge community members to browse the map and reach out to us via email inlandrailqld@artc.com.au or phone 1800 732 761 if they have any questions. Details of the Committee meetings, including minutes and presentations are available on the Committee webpage.

You can engage with us via the project interactive consultation map – this map has been developed to show the Calvert to Kagaru proposed rail alignment, study area and gather your feedback about the project. Follow the instructions on the map to drop a pin and make a comment.

The Calvert to Kagaru project flythrough video shows the current design and features three dimensional visualisations of bridges, viaducts, embankments, cuttings, crossing loops, tunnel and road and rail interfaces.

The team is currently reviewing the Queensland Coordinator-General’s request for additional information on the draft EIS. We have started undertaking additional work to update the applicable draft EIS chapters and revise the draft EIS.

Next steps

We are developing a community engagement plan to provide local communities an extended opportunity to review project information and provide feedback. Activities planned include drop-in information sessions at local community events, interactive information sessions, and regular Community Consultative Committee meetings.

We will share the details of these opportunities once the dates, venues and times are locked in early in 2022. All information sessions and meetings will be advertised in local newspapers, on social media, on our website and via our electronic newsletter – be sure to keep an eye out for them.

Landholders in the project area can expect calls from our team regarding land access. You may also see our teams carrying out investigations in the transport corridor reserves. If you have any questions about these activities, please call us on 1800 732 761.

Proof of vaccination status

Please note from 31 January 2022, all Inland Rail offices, information sessions and Community Consultative Committee meetings will abide by the Queensland Government requirement for Queensland venues, locations and businesses to restrict entry to only those who are fully vaccinated.

We encourage you to visit the Queensland government website to find out how to add your vaccination certificate or medical exemption certificate to the Check In Qld app. The website also outlines alternatives if you don’t have a mobile device.
