Consultation

Community and stakeholder feedback is helping inform the designs for Inland Rail in Victoria.

We’ve heard safety, connectivity, heritage and amenity are important to you, and where possible have incorporated your feedback to deliver better outcomes. For example:

Connectivity feedback

  • In Benalla, we are progressing plans for a pedestrian underpass that extends across the station precinct after hearing connectivity is important you.

Heritage feedback

  • In Glenrowan, we are building a network of pedestrian pathways to better connect the main street and Ned Kelly siege sites after hearing heritage is important to you.

Safety and accessibility feedback

  • In Wangaratta, we are building a light and bright pedestrian underpass which complies with the disability standards after hearing safety and accessibility are important to you.

Local knowledge is helping us identify ways to create long-term community benefits and provide better connectivity.

As Inland Rail in Victoria progresses from reference design to detailed design and into construction, we’ll continue to seek the community’s feedback to deliver the best possible solutions.

Ways to provide feedback

To date, we’ve met with many affected landowners, neighbours and communities and received lots of valuable feedback.

Our conversations with the community have included one-on-one meetings with residents, discussions at farmers markets, pop-up sessions and our shopfronts, talking with local groups and messages via an interactive map.
