December 2020 project update for North Star to NSW/Queensland Border

This month on the North Star to NSW/Queensland Border project, we’ve continued work on our response to submissions report for the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, facilitated heavy machinery training in Toomelah and caught up with a Goondiwindi business using local resources and people to deliver their part of Inland Rail.

The North Star to NSW/Queensland Border project is in the ‘response to submissions’ phase of the Environmental Impact Statement process. We expect to provide a final submissions report to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment for assessment early next year.

While we continue work on the report, we’ve been busy ensuring local and regional suppliers can take advantage of opportunities presented by Australia’s largest freight rail infrastructure project through business capability workshops, plant operator training and Indigenous training opportunities.
