Flood modelling data enhances our designs
Recently, the team have been out and about providing updates to the community on the preliminary design for and anticipated impacts to the Mehi-Gwydir floodplain and surrounding areas.

Following community consultation and local flood plain investigations by flooding and hydrology specialists, we have now modelled the impacts of 10, 20, 50 and 100-year floods in the project area.
Current modelling is showing a very small increase in flood depth in some areas, with minimal changes to flood velocity (speed) and duration.
Based on this modelling, we will establish flood management objectives as we continue to refine our designs and identify opportunities to minimise impacts at sensitive floodplain locations.
