First GrainCorp train to use upgraded line north of Moree

Another major milestone has been reached on the Narrabri to North Star section of Inland Rail with the first GrainCorp train in more than six years traveling on the track north of Moree, to load canola from the GrainCorp silos in Croppa Creek (around 60km northeast of Moree).

Inland Rail announces latest social performance figures

Inland Rail has announced its Social Performance figures for 2023, with the latest data showing that at end-December the Inland Rail project had employed a further 900 workers in 2023, taking total worker numbers to 4,700 across the project since construction began in 2018 with the Parkes to Narromine project.

Regional communities in northwest New South Wales, including Moree, Narrabri and Tamworth, have reaped a major economic boost of $244 million as a result of construction of the Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 section of the Inland Rail project, with major construction of the section set to finish next week.
