Inland Rail helps Rotary Club Goondiwindi celebrate 100 years

This year marks 100 years of outstanding community service for Rotary Australia. Rotary Club Goondiwindi recently commemorated the centenary with a family fun night, and we were more than happy to help them celebrate in style!

With a motto of ‘service above self’, the 38 members of Rotary Club Goondiwindi pride themselves on giving back to their community and supporting local.

“Rotary is an organisation that dreams big and achieves much,” said Rotary Goondiwindi Secretary, Kym Skinner.

“With the help of our sponsors and supporters, including the Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program, we were able to deliver a free event for everyone to come together at the Goondiwindi Community Centre and celebrate 100 years of Rotary,” she continued.

“The event used local businesses and local produce to boost our town’s economy and helped lifted spirits by creating a much-needed fun, family event for our community which has suffered from the effects of the drought and COVID-19.

“We really appreciate Inland Rail’s support with Rotary’s celebration of 100 years of service in Australia.”

The Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program offers funding between $1,000 and $4,000 for individuals and organisations in regional areas along the route that contribute to local and regional prosperity, wellbeing, and sustainability.
