Rail is a once-in-a-generation project that will complete the backbone of
Australia’s freight rail network. It will enhance supply chains by providing a
transit time of 24 hours or less for freight trains between Melbourne and
Brisbane. Inland Rail
will connect regional Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland to markets more
efficiently, drive substantial cost savings for producers and consumers, and
deliver significant economic benefits. Inland Rail is the largest freight rail
infrastructure project in Australia and one of the most significant
infrastructure projects in the world. About the opportunity As the First
Nations Engagement Advisor you will support the implementation of a robust
First Nations Participation Plan for the Inland Rail Program. This includes
aiding in the delivery of the First Nations program, and project specific
engagement plans. You will coordinate engagement efforts, and facilitating
training, skills development, and procurement process to ensure the successful
execution of the First Nations Participation Plan. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: About You You will need
deep cultural knowledge of Indigenous traditions and histories. You will need
to have empathy, be culturally sensitive, and active listening will play a part
in establishing trusted relationships and fostering respect for First Nations
perspectives.
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Personal organisation, written communication skills and project management skills with the ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
