The Inland Rail Program is a 1700km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The ARTC Inland Rail Project is currently seeking an experienced Visualisation Specialist to drive and support the Digital Engineering function within the Inland Rail program.

About the Position
The Visualisation Specialist ensures the effective creation and deployment of Program and Project level visualisations to support the delivery of Inland Rail.

You will provide sound, efficient and timely delivery of visualisation advice and product as defined scope. Focus on interpreting Digital Engineering information and workflows to convey technical information in an easily readable form, supporting Community and Environmental requirements as well as leveraging emerging technologies and tools in support of Inland Rail. Ensure compliance with ARTC’s Safety Management System (SMS), Environmental Management System (EMS) and ARTC’s GIS requirements, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities.

Other responsibilities include;

  • Support the investigation, scoping, development and maintenance of visualisation tools supporting project and program delivery
  • Compose appropriate project briefing and scoping documentation to enable efficient delivery and expected results
  • Support the Visualisation Coordinator in the interface management with the Inland Rail projects and functions as required including Stakeholder, Environment and Engineering
  • Practical management of Inland Rail Program Visualisation data management, enabling reliable information exchange, ensuring the data meets ARTC requirements and is suitable for IR Program.
  • Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Inland Rail Program digital engineering library of assets and distributed media
  • Align project deliverables with assurance processes to ensure validation and acceptance of Visualisation deliverables for projects and the overall Program
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively, resolve complex issues and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to Inland Rail and ARTC
  • Ensure appropriate development and delivery of training for all users within project delivery teams of the IR Program’s Digital Engineering Tools/Systems.
About You
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in Visualisation delivery of engineering or architecture and or relevant disciplines.
You will also be able to demonstrate;
  • A solid understanding of game engines. Preferably Unreal, Unity accepted.
  • An advanced ability using industry standard tools, such as; 3Ds Max, Photoshop, Premiere
  • Knowledge of web 3D, Sketchfab preferred.
  • Applicants should have experience of implementing digital engineering and geospatial information to visualisation projects
  • Possess a sound technical and commercial understanding of visualisation and working knowledge of visualisation tools with the technical expertise to support the Inland Rail project teams and interface with the Service Providers
  • Sound professional knowledge and demonstrated experience in identifying requirements for and management of digital data for Visualisation of infrastructure projects
  • Proven high level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively, resolve complex issues and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to Inland Rail and ARTC
  • A solid understanding of Revit,12d, ArcGIS, FME and Civil 3D is advantageous
