Keeping Brookstead connected

This month we caught up with the Brookstead Community Hall Association committee, who have used an Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program grant to connect their community.

Brookstead Community Hall’s new sign purchased through the Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program

The Brookstead Community Hall was established in 1912, proudly displaying this heritage on signage until the building was burnt to the ground in 1990.

While the hall has been rebuilt and re-established as a community hub, the signage was missing until the Brookstead Community Hall Association committee applied for an Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program grant.

With its successful application, the Association replaced the hall’s signage and purchased a much-needed oven to help cater for community events and future proof the facility as an emergency meeting location.

Applications for the current round of the program are open until 31 January 2021 for events and activities happening from March to May 2021.

Our program considers requests between $1,000 and $4,000 from eligible community organisations.

Visit our website for more information about eligibility requirements, application and assessment processes and terms and conditions for funding.
