Looking out for local wildlife

A reality of the works required to construct the Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 project is removing existing flora and fauna in the local area.

The project team take this aspect of the construction process seriously and follow strict protocols to ensure the project’s ecological footprint is minimised.

As required by the project’s environmental approvals, environment personnel, spotters and ecologists will undertake a range of activities including pre-clearance surveys, facilitating the removal of trees above 3m, supervising topsoil stripping, capturing and relocating a diverse range of local native critters and, spotting some of our local koala population.
