The QLD Coordinator General has extended the public comment period for the Draft Terms of Reference for the Helidon to Calvert Inland Rail project from the 5 June 2017 to 5pm 26 June 2017.
Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) Inland Rail Project Manager Helidon to Calvert Max Nichols said that ARTC had requested the extension after community feedback during information sessions in May 2017.
“We requested more time for people to understand and comment on the Draft Terms of Reference for Helidon to Calvert and we are pleased the Coordinator General agreed to our request,” he said.
ARTC will host four additional information sessions on 14 June to provide further information on the visual aspects to residents along the project corridor.
“These sessions are open to everyone and I’d really encourage people to come and learn more about how the project is shaping up.”
Mr Nichols said that the draft Terms of Reference shape the Environmental Impact Statement that will be prepared for the Helidon to Calvert Inland Rail Project.
“There will be many more opportunities for the community to provide feedback as the project is further refined over the next 12 – 18 months.”
“Queensland stands to benefit from Inland Rail and ARTC understands how important it is that communities have the opportunity to contribute to the proposals in their local area,” Mr Nichols said.
Community information sessions will be hosted by ARTC on Wednesday, 14 June 2017 at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, 34 Lake Apex Drive, Gatton.
