Tell us a bit about your professional background.

After completing my civil engineering degree at Monash, I moved to Queensland as a graduate engineer with QR National, now known as Aurizon. Five years later I joined the Major Projects team at Queensland Rail. In 2017, I was moving back to Melbourne for family reasons and joined the Inland Rail southern projects team.

Why did you decide to join Inland Rail?

I’m a rail engineer, and this is the highest profile rail project in Australia right now. Sustainability is important to me and delivering projects that improve Australia’s rail infrastructure is exactly what I want to do with my career.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of working on this project?

Teamwork. The bigger the project, the more important it is.

What can the community expect to see in coming months?

Finalised detailed designs for the crossing loop at Daroobalgie and Wyndham Ave road bridge sites on the Stockinbingal to Parkes project, as well as finalised reference designs for the other packages of work, and the Albury to Illabo project.

What do you like doing in your time off?

Currently I’m learning how to have a social life again with a baby in the house. I’m going dancing with my wife (Brazilian zouk is our favourite style), reading and gaming.
