Narrabri North to North Star – Phase 1 update
We’re delivering on the vision for Inland Rail with the successful contractor to construct the first phase of Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 to be soon announced.
October 8, 2020
Phase 1 is upgrading 171km of existing track and early works are expected to start in late 2020.
Federal and state government planning and environmental approvals for this project section were secured in recent months.
We continue to:
- work with local government to better understand social impacts and benefits
- meet with landowners and other stakeholders to discuss the project’s detailed design and, where possible, mitigate potential impacts
- finalise temporary and permanent access requirements
- complete noise, traffic, geotechnical and hydrology analysis.
