Narrabri to North Star construction look-ahead

Bridge replacement works continue at Gil Gil Creek, Gurley Creek, Croppa Creek and Yallaroi Creek. Meanwhile, construction of a laydown area for the temporary storage of equipment and supplies to ensure accessibility and safe movement for vehicles and machinery will commence at Bellata.

We are committed to the safe delivery of Inland Rail during this unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic, and we are taking extra precautions and implementing additional preventatives measures to ensure the safety of our team and the Moree and Narrabri communities. These include limiting non-essential travel by staff and ensuring all workers compliant with all NSW health restrictions and the project adheres to a strict Covid Safe plan.

Works occurring between Penneys Road and Gurley Creek, and Tycannah Creek to Tapscott Road include:

  • Ongoing delivery of culverts at Gurley
  • Track laying
  • Rail welding and tampering
  • Installation of ballast
  • Track resurfacing
  • Landscaping
  • Level crossing works, including signalling
  • Commissioning.
Works occurring between North Camurra and North Star include:
  • Track stripping
  • Excavation of existing formation material
  • New culvert installation
  • Lime stabilisation of new layers
  • Establishing a satellite office in Croppa Creek
  • Surveying of alignment continues
  • Delivery of culverts at the Crooble laydown area.
