Narrabri to North Star construction update
We’re on schedule to hand over our first section of track to ARTC on 31 October for operations to recommence in time for harvest.

And we’ve already made solid construction despite the recent wet weather:
- more than 56 km of track stripped
- 112,000 metres of old rail removed
- more than 93,300 timber, steel and concrete sleepers removed
- 224 precast culvert box units and 82 wingwalls installed
- five bridges demolished
- six level crossing upgrades started.
While working across the whole project, our major focus has been ensuring works between Penneys Road and Tapscott Road are completed before the new track is handed back to ARTC by the end of October 2021, in time for harvest.
