No. 96: Bogan Road temporary diversion construction

Snapshot

Date

March 2024

Local Government Area

The side road will be closed, and traffic will be detoured back on to Bogan Road in mid-May 2020. There will be a single lane with traffic control to manage the two-way traffic on the single lane.

In mid-June 2020, Bogan Road will open to two-way traffic.

Location of works

What we’re doing

  • Building road formation
  • Installing permanent fencing and signage
  • Upgrading road drainage
  • Installing new boom gates

What to expect

  • A speed reduction to 40km/h will be in place several hundred meters on either side of the level crossing on Bogan Road for the safety of all road users, until the site compound is removed in mid-2020
  • Traffic lights and stop/go signs will be used to assist drivers travelling on the temporary single lane
  • During the work there will be heavy vehicles travelling to and from the work sites.

Once rail has been installed in each section, the rail will be ‘live’ and construction trains will be intermittently passing across the level crossing. For your continued safety, please ensure you obey all signage at level crossings.
