No. 99: Level crossing upgrades and temporary closures – Tinks Lane, Tomingley

Snapshot

Date

April 2024

Local Government Area

As part of the work we are upgrading level crossings between Parkes and Narromine. While we do this, we need to temporarily close public roads.

We opened Tinks Lane, Tomingley, to allow road users to continue to use the road while we installed rail. Rail has been installed and we need to temporarily close Tinks Lane again to complete the road work.

Due to recent rain events this was delayed and will now close on Thursday 18 June 2020.

Timing and location of works

Tinks Lane, Tomingley

  • Between Peak Hill Railway Road and Tomingley-Narromine Road
  • From Thursday 18 June 2020 until the end of July 2020
  • Road detour will be via – Peak Hill Railway Road, Wyanga Road and the Tomingley Narromine Road
  • Tinks Lane will re-open as soon as the road work is completed.

What we’re doing

  • Build, seal, and line marking of new road formations
  • Install permanent signage and fencing.

What to expect

  • During the work there will be heavy vehicles travelling to and from the work sites
  • Traffic management with detour signage will be in place to assist those impacted by the road closure.

Once rail has been installed in each section, the rail will be ‘live’ and construction trains will be intermittently passing across the level crossing. For your continued safety, please ensure you obey all signage at level crossings.
