Progress on our flood modelling

During October and November, we completed further work on our flood modeling for the Illabo to Stockinbingal project. The first stage of the consultation involved impacted landowners, councils and local emergency management officers (LEMOs).

Stakeholders were able to review flood model maps applicable to their property, or area of responsibility in the case of councils and LEMOs. This stage was a ground truthing exercise where the base model was checked against the reality of major flood events in recent memory, including September 2016.

In early 2021, we will consult stakeholders again about the design of the new rail alignment which will be overlaid on the flood modelling. You can read how we have progressed since October 2016 as part of our design work.
