Inland Rail Project Manager John Carr giving a presentation

Presenting as part of a series of Engineers Australia (EA) webinars, John spoke about how better outcomes in engineering are being delivered when leaders combine precision, truth, logic and integrity with perspective, empathy and practicality. Over 550 people participated in the interactive webinar on 25 June 2020, a new EA record.

John discussed the importance of community engagement and feedback, and how local knowledge has enabled John and his team to develop more comprehensive design models for the 39km Inland Rail project from North Star to the NSW/Qld Border.

The event was very well received with attendees describing John as the “best presenter in four months of an intensive schedule of webinars” and “…one of the best presenters in this EA webinar series”.

The webinar ‘Connecting the Country’, supported by the Engineers Australia Sunshine Coast Regional Group and Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA), can be viewed free of charge here (registration required).
