September 2020 project update for Kagaru to Acacia Ridge and Bromelton
Baseline noise and vibration monitoring has now been completed on site and is being used to model potential impacts. Based on the results of the operational modelling, we will develop appropriate mitigation measures in line with the current regulatory requirements for a rail enhancement project. Ongoing monitoring will be undertaken during the construction phase.
Upcoming community engagement
In the coming months, we will be sharing the results of our environmental investigations and proposed mitigation measures with the community and gathering feedback.
To ensure as many people as possible can learn more about the project and have their say, we will be conducting a range of activities, including:
- community information drop-in sessions at a range of venues across the project area
- CCC meeting
- landowner meetings
- a project newsletter, which will be letterbox dropped to the project area and published online
- updates to our website and interactive map.
Keep an eye on our website for upcoming events and the latest project information.

Inland Rail upskilling workshops a success
We’re committed to playing our part in upskilling regional communities and ensuring people are given the opportunity to help build Inland Rail. Late last year, the Inland Rail Skills Academy hosted eight business capability workshops between Beaudesert and Goondiwindi to help local businesses get ‘construction ready’.
