Sizzling opportunity to talk about Inland Rail at Gowrie Junction

A Social Performance and Sustainability Workshop will be held alongside a free sausage sizzle between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday, March 16 at the Gowrie Junction Progress Association Hall. The workshop will feature a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.

A second workshop on the Gowrie to Helidon section of the Inland Rail project will explore flora, fauna and environmental offsets and will be held on April 19 at Murphy’s Creek Community Centre between 6pm and 8pm.

There will be further workshops in Gowrie Junction area on a range of topics from traffic and transport to noise and vibration, which will also be held later in the year.

Ashley Mason, Inland Rail Gowrie to Kagaru Delivery Director said:

‘Every community is different and has unique needs and ARTC is keen to find out what the people of Gowrie Junction think of the Inland Rail project.

‘Our discussions will range from workforce management, industry participation, housing and accommodation, health and community wellbeing and community and stakeholder engagement.

‘We have been having some great conversations out on the ground to get the best outcomes possible for our communities along the alignment. This gives us another opportunity to gather information and feed it into our planning.

‘We find engaging with groups at informal events like the one at Gowrie Junction can be useful to capture local knowledge. We are seeking ideas and initiatives ahead of construction so we can build the best line we can and bring communities with us on the journey.’
