Temporary traffic changes at Kanimbla and Gurley Creek Roads

From early September 2021, Trans4m Rail will continue major track construction works within the existing rail corridor between Bellata and South Moree in preparation for rail operations to recommence from 1 November 2021.

To enable level crossing works at Kanimbla Road (LX553) and Gurley Creek Road (LX554), traffic restrictions (including temporary lane closures) will be in place for the duration of works. These activities may result in minor travel delays and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

For public safety, road users should observe all traffic control instructions, signage and VMS boards during this period.

Works will occur between 7am and 6pm Monday to Sunday. Low impact activities such as machinery re-fuelling, managing environmental controls and traffic control may also occur outside of these hours. Residents will be notified in advance of any out-of-hours work.

  • installation of rubber level crossing matting
  • road safety audit at completion of works.

How we’re managing impacts

  • Traffic control and signs will be in place, where required
  • water carts will be on site to wet down areas to assist in managing dust.
