Inland Rail helps local businesses develop skills to secure major works
Over 60 local businesses, including 11 First Nations businesses in Albury, Wagga Wagga, and Forbes are becoming increasingly competitive when it comes to winning work on major projects in the region – including Inland Rail - having attended the second round of workshops within the ‘Pathway to Opportunities’ Supplier Capability Development Program, an initiative of the Inland Rail Skills Academy.

The Inland Rail project has won three major awards at the Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Innovation (EISSI) in Sydney, with our surveying contractors, Monteath & Powys, winning two awards for their work on the Inland Rail project and Casey Surveying and Design also taking out an award.

Ahead of construction work starting on the Stockinbingal to Parkes section in the next few weeks, the Forbes Wiradjuri Dreaming Centre has led an immersive cultural tour for staff of Inland Rail and Stockinbingal to Parkes major contractor Martinus Rail.

Forbes locals kick start careers in rail with help from the Inland Rail Skills Academy
Six community members from Forbes and surrounding areas, including four First Nations participants, have kick started their careers in the rail sector after participating in a Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) training course, run by The Instruction Company in partnership with the Inland Rail Skills Academy.

Trainee workers on track to a brighter future with Inland Rail
Seven local First Nations students are on track for a bright future in the rail industry after completing a critical five-week course to build their rail infrastructure skills thanks to the Inland Rail Skills Academy (IRSA), opening up potential career opportunities as track workers, track installers, and track maintenance crew.
