Work being done

Start of construction:

• Earthworks
• Preparation for ground drilling / piling
• Track works

Other works will be undertaken as construction progresses and we will inform you of these through regular updates.

What can I expect?

• Construction traffic movements including excavators and light and heavy vehicles
• Some noisy activities such as excavation, ground drilling / piling, vehicle movements and loading, unloading and moving of equipment.
• The site compound may be visible from Wyndham Avenue and Sam Street.

Machinery used

Equipment used for the works includes but is not limited to:

• hand tools including power saws
• excavators
• loaders
• graders
• rollers
• truck and dogs
• backhoes
• cranes
• heavy and light vehicles
• generators
• lighting towers
• other minor plant.

The long-term site activity will include site deliveries of materials, movement of plant and other construction related activity.

How we're managing impacts

• Use of non-tonal reversing alarms on all equipment and turning off equipment when not in use
• Workers using the site compound will keep noise to a minimum and be respectful to neighbours
• To reduce visual impacts, site fencing and shadecloth will be placed around the site compound. Materials will be stored in an organised way
• Traffic controls will be in place, where required
• Water carts will be on-site to wet down areas to assist in managing dust
• Works programmed to best minimise noise impacts. We will aim to minimise noise from the works and monitor noisy activities
• Works will be monitored to ensure compliance with Project Approval Conditions.
