Keeping cool with the Yelarbon RSL Memorial Hall Restoration Committee
The Yelarbon RSL Memorial Hall first opened its doors to the community in 1925. We’re proud to support their long-held commitment to service with a recent grant for the purchase and installation of air-conditioners to keep local community groups cool in summer and warm in winter.
The Yelarbon RSL Memorial Hall was built in memory of soldiers who served in World War One and World War Two and is a central feature of the community.
Yelarbon RSL Memorial Hall Restoration Committee Secretary, Margaret Bremner said the group aims to keep the hall in first class repair so it can be used for generations to come.
“The hall is used by Yelarbon State School, dance groups and the community for classes, meetings and creative music workshops,” Mrs Bremner said.
“It’s used in hot and cold weather, so the air-conditioners we were able to purchase with a community grant from Inland Rail help make sure everyone who uses the hall is comfortable all year round.”
Since 2019, our Community Sponsorships and Donations program has benefitted regional communities in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria with grants worth more than $666,000 awarded to successful applicants.
The program offers funding between $1,000 and $4,000 for individuals and organisations in regional areas along the route that contribute to local and regional prosperity, wellbeing, and sustainability.
If you have an activity, event or project that will benefit your local community and you represent a community group or organisation that is a not-for-profit or local government body, we welcome your application.
Our current round of applications runs to 31 January 2022. Visit the Sponsorships and Donations page or email email@example.com for information about eligibility requirements, assessment processes, and terms and conditions of funding.
