Yelarbon State School goes digital with help from Inland Rail

Last month, we caught up with Yelarbon State School Principal, Jacqui Coleborn to see the school’s new digital sign, partly funded by the Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program.

Located approximately 50 kilometres east of Goondiwindi, Yelarbon State School prides itself on educating its 38 students to be environmentally sustainable, smart, safe, and social.

“The school is the heart of our community and we endeavour to empower our students to become active citizens in a changing global arena,” Ms Coleborn said.

“Our new digital sign helps us to communicate clear messages and encourages greater awareness of what’s going on in the school and the community.”

Since its inception in 2019, the Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program has supported more than 140 projects with more than $450,000 in grants.

We offer funding between $1000 and $4000 for individuals and organisations in regional areas along the Inland Rail route that contribute to local and regional prosperity, wellbeing, and sustainability.

If you have an activity, event or project that will benefit your local community and you represent a community group or organisation that is a not-for-profit or local government body, we welcome your application.

The next round of applications closes on 30 April 2021. Visit our website or email IRCommunitySponsorships@artc.com.au for more information.
