Five ‘Meet the contractor’ networking and information sessions for the Narromine to Narrabri project will be held in May at Gilgandra, Coonamble, Baradine, Narrabri and Narromine.

The sessions will give local businesses and individuals the chance to learn more about the Narromine to Narrabri project, its supply needs, and how to get involved with Inland Rail.

Inland Rail project team members will be joined by representatives from our recently appointed preferred civil works contractor, ACACPB JV, comprising construction companies ACCIONA and CPB Contractors.

ARTC Inland Rail Director Delivery (Southern Program), Paul Giess is looking forward to the opportunity to meet interested local suppliers and discuss the Narromine to Narrabri project’s scope of works.

“We are absolutely committed to ensuring regional towns reap the jobs and economic benefits that come with building an infrastructure project as huge as Inland Rail,” Mr Giess said.

“Inland Rail is expected to support 7,500 jobs in New South Wales at the peak of construction and boost Gross State Product by $3.4 billion over construction and the first 50 years of operation.

“We’ve already committed 745 contracts worth over $580 million to NSW-based businesses and this number is expected to grow sharply as we start to sub-contract for the Narromine to Narrabri section.”

More information, including session times and locations, will be shared shortly via this project newsletter, local advertisements and the Inland Rail website.
