Track slewing works, Seymour Railway Station 18-24 March 2024

Inland Rail will undertake track slewing works at the Seymour Railway Station area from Monday 18 March to Sunday 24 March.

Work being done

Track slewing involves unclipping and cutting of the existing rail track, moving the track horizontally and rebuilding the relocated rail sections.

The works will take place within the rail corridor, with minimal impact to road users.

Coaches will replace trains during this period of works.

What can I expect

  • Construction work during the day, 6am-6pm Monday 18 March to Sunday 24 March 2024
  • Potential night works on Wednesday 20 March (temperature dependent)
  • Approved vegetation removal within the project area, if required
  • Ground excavations in various locations
  • Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the work site
  • Noise from construction machinery and equipment operating onsite
  • Use of generators and light towers during nightworks. These will be directed away from residential properties.

Machinery used

Heavy and light vehicles including trucks, cranes loaders, excavators, track tampers and rollers will be used within the work areas.

How we’re managing impacts

  • Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users and pedestrians, where required
  • Reducing vehicles required onsite and construction traffic near the station
  • Environmental controls will be in place
  • Directing light towers away from residential properties.
