Environmental Impact Statement progress

The Narromine to Narrabri Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is expected to be lodged with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment in December 2020.

The Island Road and Narrabri Viaduct

It will then go on exhibition for public feedback for a minimum of 28 days.

The EIS is informed by extensive field studies, detailed environmental investigations and flood modelling data, and extensive consultation with communities and landholders. It will play a critical role in assessing and mitigating the environmental, social and economic effects as well as potential opportunities and benefits of Inland Rail.

We encourage the community to have their say on the Narromine to Narrabri EIS and to understand how they can make a formal submission. More information will be available as we near the exhibition date.
