Wandong primary is committed to the health and wellbeing of its students and families and has established a team of allied health professionals to support the delivery of student assessments, learning programs, mental health support plans and therapies at school.

To compliment the school’s health professionals, the funding will be used to purchase sensory based furniture, tools and equipment to set up the new Wellbeing Space.

Jessica Woods, Wandong Primary School, Student Wellbeing Leader, said:

‘At Wandong Primary School students and families are at the centre of what we do.

‘We have invested heavily in building a team of educational and allied health professionals to ensure we have all bases covered when it comes to our community’s needs.

‘Evidence shows mental health and wellbeing has a direct link to positive outcomes for students and by having a comprehensive team of professionals here, we give our students the best opportunity to succeed.’

Ed Walker, ARTC Victoria and South Australia Projects General Manager, said:

‘We are proud to give back to the communities that are home to Inland Rail. The work these organisations do is instrumental to the wellbeing of regional communities.

‘The latest round of funding takes overall support for local communities and associations along the Inland Rail alignment to nearly $1.1 million since the program launched in 2019.

‘I encourage other non-profit groups to lodge their applications for the next round of funding which is open until Sunday 30 April 2023.’

The Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program offers funding between $1000 and $4000 for individuals and organisations in regional areas along the Inland Rail alignment.
