Introductory property acquisition and compensation discussions

Delivering Inland Rail requires us to purchase land necessary for the safe construction and operation of each project. We'll soon look to meet with all affected landowners to talk about these next steps, including our property requirements, your rights, and the opportunity to start voluntary negotiations.

Soon, we’ll reach out to affected landowners who might be interested in beginning property negotiations with Inland Rail. These negotiations are voluntary and subject to the same rights and obligations afforded to all affected landowners under the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991. Please refer to our Property acquisition in New South Wales fact sheet to learn more about the acquisition process.

Once approval has been received from the New South Wales Minister for Transport to formally acquire land under the Transport Administration Act 1988, we’ll reach out to all affected landowners again. It’s anticipated that this approval will be received in the coming months.

If you have any further questions, please contact us on 1800 732 761 or at inlandrailnsw@artc.com.au.
