Noise and vibration modelling

We acknowledge the operation and maintenance of Inland Rail will have noise impacts for local communities. The draft noise and vibration modelling during construction and operation for areas around the project’s enhancement work sites has been completed.

Detailed noise modelling aims to predict where we may exceed noise guidelines.

Modelling results will help us develop appropriate mitigation measures in line with Queensland Government regulations. More information on how Inland Rail manages noise and vibration can be found here.

One potential mitigation measure for the enhancement work areas is noise walls. The proposed locations of noise walls can be viewed on our interactive map.

Please note these are concept only and are subject to change following further detailed design, field investigations or government approvals.

We are continuing to assess the potential noise impacts on sections of rail corridor outside the enhancement work areas.
