Clontarf Foundation students celebrated at annual award nights

The Awards Nights celebrated and showcased the commitment, achievement, and success of the Clontarf students across pillars such as attendance, employment, academia, leadership, sport, and the Clontarf Foundation values.

The Clontarf Foundation partnership with Inland Rail, beginning July 2021, creates opportunities for students to learn about careers and employment opportunities with Inland Rail contractors along the alignment.  Nearly 100 places in skills training have been taken up by students in Albury and Wagga Wagga academies, with boys gaining their construction White Cards and competencies in confined spaces and working at heights. In addition, 85 staff have engaged with the students at 30 events, including super training events and at awards dinners to learn about boys’ aspirations and interests.

The partnership actively supports Clontarf’s goals around school retention, development of soft skills including leadership, and links to employment and training opportunities.

“Inland Rail supports the Clontarf Foundation’s goal of improving the education, life skills, self-esteem, and employment prospects of our First Nations youth, and together, through the Inland Rail Skills Academy, we are providing structure and daily support for First Nations youth in schools across Australia.

“We are committed to playing our part in upskilling the nation and ensuring that different groups of people are given the opportunity to help build Inland Rail.”
