Major construction on Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 Project is well underway
Since the commencement of major construction on the Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 project in April this year, we have reached several major milestones despite the above average rainfall received across the region.

We’ve made solid progress despite the inclement weather, with more than 27km of track stripped, including the removal of 55km of rail, and 45,000 steel and timber sleepers.
To ensure our contractor, Trans4m Rail, can hand back the rail track in preparation for the 2021 grain harvest, our project team has adjusted their work schedule to mitigate the impacts of recent major rain events and COVID-19.
Trans4m Rail are implementing various environmental controls on-site, as part of their environmental license, to manage stormwater drainage and reduce water pooling wherever possible.
