The Narromine to Narrabri Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is on public display via the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) Major Projects portal from Tuesday 8 December 2020 to Sunday 7 February 2021.

Having your say will help DPIE to better understand community views and inform their assessment of the project.

How to view the EIS and have your say

Online

You can view the EIS and other Narromine to Narrabri project documents on the DPIE website.

To give feedback you’ll need to log in or create an account. Before making your submission, please read the DPIE privacy statement. DPIE will publish your submission on its website in accordance with this statement.

Your submission can either be typed or uploaded as a PDF and must include:

  • the application name and number
  • a statement as to whether you support or object to the proposal
  • the reasons why you support or object to the proposal
  • a declaration of any reportable political donations made in the last two years.

You’ll need to agree to the online statement before lodging your submission.

Post

Written submissions must include:

  • your name and address, at the top of the letter only
  • the name of the application and the application number
  • a statement on whether you support or object to the project
  • the reasons why you support or object to the project
  • a declaration of any reportable political donations made in the previous two years.

Your submission must reach DPIE before Sunday 7 February 2021 and is to be sent to: Director Transport Assessments, Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, Locked Bag 5022, Parramatta NSW 2124.

All submissions will be made public in line with DPIE’s objective to promote an open and transparent planning system. If you do not want your name published, please state this clearly at the top of your submission.

Visit a local outlet

From Wednesday 9 December 2020, you’ll be able to collect a complete version of the EIS and summary document on a USB as well as printed copies of the summary from select outlets such as council chambers and libraries. Locations will be available soon.

Your consultative committee

A Community Consultative Committee (CCC) has been established for local communities in the Narromine to Narrabri area. This CCC provides a forum to share project information, discuss topics of interest, and address any issues or community concerns.

Importantly, it also provides an opportunity for community representatives to share their knowledge and experience on key issues with the Inland Rail team.

Narromine to Narrabri Options Report

This Options Report summarises the process, inputs and decisions made by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) to assess alternative options and identify the Study Area for the Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail (Inland Rail) between Narromine and Narrabri.
