We have created before/after images to help illustrate what Inland Rail might look like in your community. The below slider images show the existing site and an artistic impression of the proposed design.

Simply drag the slider to view the existing image versus the proposed design.

Greenbank Loop

It is proposed to extend the existing Greenbank crossing loop as part of Inland Rail.

A crossing loop is a track that runs parallel to the main track, and allows one train to stop while another train overtakes or passes.

The existing loop would be extended by approximately 300m to accommodate a 1,800m long train.

The new loop would be approximately 2,150m in length, to accommodate a 1,800m long train.
