Narrabri to North Star (Phase 1) ISCA

Narrabri to North Star (Phase 1) ISCA “Excellent” IS Design rating certification

Narrabri to North Star (Phase 1) project is the first Inland Rail project to be verified for an Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) rating. The IS rating is a comprehensive system for evaluating sustainability across design, construction and operation phases of infrastructure projects and assets. It is administered by the Infrastructure Council of Australia which is a member based industry association with the purpose of enabling sustainability outcomes in infrastructure. Narrabri to North Star (Phase 1) project achieved an ‘excellent’ rating for its design.

Inland Rail breaks ground on Narrabri to North Star

Progress on the Australian Government Inland Rail project continues, with the second section of the 1,700 kilometre Melbourne to Brisbane freight line between Narrabri and North Star (N2NS) now under construction.

Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 fact sheet

Trans4m Rail, a joint venture between contractors John Holland and SEE Civil, was announced in November 2020 as the principle construction contractor for Phase 1 works. Enabling works such as the delivery of rail and sleepers are now complete and early works are underway. Construction is planned for early 2021.
